The Advisor Inventory and Users pages look almost identical, but there are important differences and capabilities between each page. There are certain capabilities on one page that can’t be achieved on the other. Within this article, those differences are outlined.

The Advisor Inventory contains all the enterprise data on financial advisors that has been imported into Practice Exchange.

A User is a financial advisor that has opted-in and created a profile on Practice Exchange. Data that is pre-populated in the user’s profile is inherited from their Advisor Inventory record.

Put another way, the Advisor Inventory represents potential users, whereas Users represent existing users on Practice Exchange.

Notable Differences Between the Advisor Inventory and User Pages

  • Financial Advisors can be invited to join the Practice Exchange platform via email only from the Advisor Inventory Page

  • User activity can only be seen on the Users page

If you’re on either the Advisor Inventory or User page and you’re trying to accomplish a specific task, but are having difficulty doing so, try navigating to the other page (ie: going to Advisor Inventory when you’re on the Users page) and see whether you’re able to complete the task on that page instead.

Each page is quite similar visually and might take some getting used to.

If you still can’t accomplish a specific task, reach out to Practice Exchange Support for assistance.
