Completing your Business Teaser

The first step to creating your Meeting Room is completing your confidential business teaser. A business teaser is a document that contains a firm’s overview and highlights. Its intent is to give prospective buyers or succession partners just enough information to make them want to learn more. To learn more about the business teaser, check out this support article "The Business Teaser".

If after reviewing the teaser the buyer or succession partner isn’t interested in learning more about your opportunity, your anonymity will be protected as no identifying information will have been disclosed. No identifying information will be divulged until after the buyer or succession partner has signed a confidentiality agreement.

The Meeting Room already asks you for the information necessary to include in your teaser, all you need to do is provide the responses. Go through each section of the teaser filling in the details asked of you.

Once you’ve provided a response to each section, review your information then click “Next” at the bottom of the page.

Note: This page autosaves, so if you need to quit and come back at a later time, your responses will still be there.

Discovery Questions

Do you have any dealer breakers? Are there requirements your future successor must meet in order to be considered for your opportunity? Discovery questions give you the opportunity to ask your candidates about those requirements.

The Meeting Room includes a long list of commonly asked questions to choose from. If you don’t see a question that you’d like to ask, you can choose to create your own. You can add up to five discovery questions.

To use a prewritten question, select one from the list of suggested questions from the dropdown menu.

Click “Create my own” to come up with your own discovery questions.

Once you’ve added your discovery questions, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Next” button.

“Tell us what you’re looking for”

You’re almost done! It’s time to evaluate the importance of certain match criteria. The algorithm will prioritize your matches based on your selections in this section to optimize the matches presented to you in your Meeting Room. Read through the questions and rate each preference “Not Important”, “Somewhat Important” or “Very Important”.

When you’ve made your selections, click next at the bottom of the page. You will be able to come back and edit your teaser, discovery questions and match preferences later on before publishing.

Review & Create Your Meeting Room

Scroll through your teaser and review the information you provided and pulled from your profile. If you are happy with your teaser, click the “Create” button located directly underneath your teaser. If you’d like to make changes, select “Make Changes to Teaser”.

Note: Creating your teaser simply means it is ready to be shared with other users. It will not be shared until you manually invite users to your Meeting Room on the following page.

Go to the next step > Inviting Matches
